Raynes Park - Gas Works update
Notification of major gas works: West Barnes Lane area of Raynes Park – UPDATE Friday 04 October. From SGN
"Update regarding our gas network upgrade in the West Barnes Lane area of Raynes Park.
We have carefully consulted and planned our work in partnership with London Borough of Merton. We restarted our project on Thursday 12 September and expect to last approximately 14 weeks.
We will be working in West Barnes Lane, starting from Camberley Avenue and progressing southwards in three phases towards Trafalgar Court/Malden Court. For everyone’s safety we will need to install temporary traffic lights around our work areas, to allow our engineers to dig safely.
During phase two we will be working in West Barnes Lane at the junction with Bodnant Gardens, we've planned to carry this phase of our project during the October school half-term holiday to reduce inconvenience to the local community. We will be doing everything we can to minimise disruption during our essential work.
Please share this information with any stakeholders you feel may be impacted.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Raynes Park residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come."
