The London Learning Consortium (LCC) Traineeship programme can help employers provide the wraparound support required as part of the Kickstart Scheme. Find out how . . .

The LLC Traineeship programme is a fantastic, practical route to employment which includes a blend of formal skills training (sectoral if possible), employability training, English, Maths and a minimum of 70 hours of real work experience, linked where possible to a real vacancy. Due to the current restrictions' delivery is currently online, although the work placement will be agreed with the employer.

The programme is aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 - or 25 with an EHC plan - and qualified up to level 3 have little or no work experience but are motivated to work. So basically, any young person who has not been to University.

The Traineeship has a minimum length of 6 weeks and a maximum length of 6 months, the duration depends on whether a job role is filled quickly or not. The average amount of time our trainees spend on the programme is 12 weeks.

The work placement with an employer allows employers to build a rapport with potential employees and enables both parties to assess the suitability of employment and where possible is used as a work trial for a real vacancy.

Traineeships can help in 2 ways.  Firstly, to prepare young people for the sectors where you have current vacancies and secondly as an exit route for the unsuccessful candidates, where the Traineeship programme keeps the Young Person engaged and maintaining their motivation to find employment.
